Ko other discounf^will be allowed in > these collections, HARDY GRAPES. Cultnre. Select a location w 11 h g o 0 d drainage.^ Plant in rows six feet 'ap^rt and the vines eight feet apart in the rows. Dig holes fif- teen inches deep, and long enough to accomo- date the vines. They should then be lille^ to within six or eight inches of the top, with fine, rich soil, throwing in a few bones or wood ashes. Cut back one year vines to two eyes, placing the lower one below the surface; two year vines to three or four eyes, planting two or three eyes below the surface. Spread out the roots, with one- third their length cut off; place the stock of the vine at one side of the hole, and fill with tine soil, pressing it firmly about them. When planted, set a stake at the stock, (to which the vine should be kept tied,) which will be all the sup- port required for two years. Keep old wood trimmed off^ sorrowing fruit on new canes. Anv manner of pruning that will admit the sun to the fruits- will insure a good crop; and laying the vines on the ground, even without coverino;, ^vill in- crease both the qaalfty of the fruit and the size of the bunch- es, besides insuring safety from injury by frost. For mildew, dust with sulphur while the vines are wet. >IOOTJE s eaki.v. Goldeni Pocklluston^ As handsome as the Golden Hamburg, as rich as the Chas- selas. and fully as sweet. Wherever exhibited throughout the United States and Canada, has always been successful in receiving the highest premiums. Fruit large, golden yellow, cov- ered with bloom; bunches very large, sometimes shouldered'; berries large and thickly set on the bunch; quality better than the Concord in its best state. When fully ripe, it is clear, juicy and sweet to the center, with very little or no pulp; slightly musky, but not unpleas- ant. Kipeus with the C^oncord. and like that well known variety, will prove to be the White Grape for the million—both for maiket and home use—and is adapted to all sections of the country. 1 yr 50c: doz.$5; 2yrs. 65c; doz. g6.
